Thirukkural – Art of Living

Thiru Valluvar’s, Thiru Kural has today come to be documented as an unique classic in the literature of the entire world. Thirukural is the only Tamil literary work that has been translated many times in almost all main languages of the world. In Tamil “Thiru” means “holy” or “sacred,” and “Kural” means anything that is short. In fact, it is the shortest form of poetry in the Tamil language.

Thirukkural is not just of great artistic and stylistic literary value, but it is actually embedded with THE ART OF LIVING with pieces of precious wisdom. This holy book consisting of 133 chapters of 10 couplets each. Each chapter in this holy book elucidates a different aspect of human virtue or human fault. It is a masterpiece of ancient Tamil literature in its own times, has stood the test of history and is established by posterity as a decisive work which has predisposed the thoughts of man throughout the centuries.
